Performance and creative blocks are often a result of a buildup of negative experiences.
Negative experiences build up in our body-mind, leading to habitual ways of thinking and acting. For example, one bad audition can lead a performer to believe they are a “bad auditioner.” Then they go into the next audition with the belief they are a “bad auditioner” and felt sense of failure. So they proceed to have a bad audition. Which reinforces the beliefs and feelings, leading to another bad audition, and… well, you get the picture.
Brainspotting is a powerful therapy that can provide rapid healing of these negative experiences. Through using an eye position to access related feelings, the brain is able to process and let go of these blocking patterns. For many clients, Brainspotting is a fast and effective way to heal performance anxiety.
You CAN feel confident going into your next audition, knowing that you can show up and do your best. Brainspotting can help.
